Glama....

Hi Everyone

Today I am sharing a great image available in store "Glama"!
Click here to be taken directly to the digi in store!! She has a it of a retro look and feel to her!

I've created a mixed media journal page. Background is acrylic paints and a range of different home made stencils (made on my Cameo Silhouette with overhead transparency sheet). I love the soft colour tones.

Glama was coloured with copics and fussy cut. I added a few pink feathers and stamped the "I feel pretty" lettering.

You can find more amazing images in store - so many styles to choose from and links to Cheri's colouring books!!

Happy crafting everyone!

Jamesa- quick and easy card with Tutorial for Beginners

Hey there! Rachel with you today, I'd like to share my new card with you!
I know, I'm a day earlier than I usually pop up, but I got my video recorded this morning, and wanted to just rip the bandaid off and get it out there. I HATE the sound of my own voice, and am usually a scatty crafter, so getting this ready to go caused some... issues LOL
originally I was just going to put the card front together, and leave you to work out the rest if you wanted to have a go, but then the crafting OCD kicked in, and I had to finish it (plus, adding extra bits I hadn't planned for, at the start)
so please bear with me- other than the flick throughs for cheri's colouring books, this is the first time I've EVER tried to do anything like this. if you like it please give it a like over in youtube, leave me a comment and let me know what you'd like to see and subscribe... or I'm NEVER doing it again :P

The image I've used for the card shown today is this one - Jamesa from the custom images folder in Cheri's shop.

Before the tutorial, I coloured the image ( sized at 4 1/4 " tall) using copics and wink of stella clear marker on the leggings, and cut to size- just to save some time because my computer does not like to process anything too large- I'm uploading as I type this post, and my laptop sounds like it's trying to enter low earth orbit :-/

First off here is the sketch I used to create this card- Card sketches are a great resource when you are just beginning, or when your crafting mojo goes walkabout. you can find this one and others on my pinterest board to save for later! the best thing is you can follow them as much or as little as you want, and TOTALLY put your own twist on the sketch!

So now, I will show you the finished card that I assembled on camera- yet again for speed reasons I pre cut everything before filming, and I will leave the measurements both here and in the description of the video on you tube so you don't keep having to press pause! (after all, who wants to listen to my brit chick voice for longer than they have to, right?)

cardstock measurements

4 pieces of black cardstock (or any other colour you fancy, to match up with your papers and coloured image)

one at 5 1/2 " x 4 1/4"
one at 5 1/4 x 2 3/4 "
one at 5" x 2 3/8"
and the one for your image mat is 4 5/8" x 2 7/8"

one piece of white cardstock with your coloured image on at 4 1/2" x 2 3/4"

then three pieces of decorative paper

base layer 5 3/8" x 4 1/8"
first layer 2 3/4" x 5 1/4"
second layer 2 1/4" x 4 7/8"

I've also used a strip of washi tape and some self adhesive gems from Queen and Company , but you can use ribbon and any embellishments you like- or leave them off completely. same with the sentiment- if you don't own any sentiment stamps, you can either add it to your image layer before printing with fonts in your computer, or a digital sentiment file, or leave that off completely too.

The card blank I made up is 5 1/2 " x 4 1/4" and this size is widely available in most US Stores (A2 card blank) but you can make your own using a 12" piece of cardstock, a paper trimmer and a score board if you have those items. over here in the UK our small rectangular cards are a different size, so I tend to make those more often!

Beware the Siren......

Hi Fans

Sharing an altered index card today which is my day 9 creation for the Index Card a Day Challenge! Theme for the day was "compass"!

I've used one of Cheri's great Mary Jane images which you can find at the website along with all the others and the colouring book details!!

Background is a digital paper available from the Old Market Etsy Store - I printed it directly onto the index card. I coloured the image with copics and fussy cut then added her to the card along with an ink sprayed piece of muslin, a compass charm and computer generate wording.

Beware the sirens will tempt you off course ... with their "sea" weed LOL!!

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Be a unicorn Nude - Crafting Vicky

Hello!  I'm here for my inspiration post of the month and I had fun journaling again. And I figured I would give you ideas at the same time on how to use up your left over papers, you know those scraps that we don't know what to do with?!?

Here is the make using the wonderful image Be a Unicorn Nude.  Well do you really think a unicorn would dress up?!?  It's already fabulous isn't it?!?

The papers are all strips and they are double side papers so I was able to really match them up for the fun of it.  I used some black water color on the side of them when they were in the book to make it more uniform. The image was colored with my copics and I fussy cut her out and layered her on some black paper.  I used a white gell pen on the black left over papers to write out the sentiment.

Hope you like it!!!  Have a fabulous Thursday and stay creative!!!  Don't forget to check out the store for some fab digis!!!

Hugs

in Memory of Sandie- Fairytale daydream

Today the world just lost an amazing crafter, and one of the nicest people you could know- She was the blogger 'Fairytale daydream' so I'd like you to join us in thinking of Sandie's family today..

I'd also like to share the card she made for the challenge blog last year as a guest designer, and also her work with one of the very first images here at Karleigh Sue, back in 2014

R.I.P Sandie, you will most definitely be missed.
if any of you would like to share your memories of Sandie in the comments section, you would be most welcome.

Jamesa

Did you know Cheri does custom pin up digis? Well she does, and today I'm popping by to share a wee bit of inspiration using the lovely Jamesa. When I saw her I just had to pop open the copics and colour her up for a card for my sisters birthday this week. She's a professional photographer so it's a perfect image for her!

I fussy cut around her and kept my card simple, using a bokeh style patterned paper, which I stamped a sentiment directly on to. Some scrap booking photo corners and gems added the finishing touch.

I hope you're inspired to get creating now. There are so many awesome images in the store that you are bound to find something to tickle your fancy so why not take a peek and treat yourself?

Thanks for stopping by

Be a Unicorn (Nude)

Hey there! Rachel (Aka BritBitch) here with you today, to share a card I made with one of the recent new images in Cheri's store ' Be a Unicorn (Nude) ' this image also comes in clothed, if you aren't quite daring enough to use the naked version!

I opted for a bright and colourful colour palette for this one, using all the colours of the rainbow + pink- my favourite colour!

I merged the digital stamp with another stamp by SLS Lines , and sized in my editing program, before printing and colouring with copics.
I then pulled out my most colourful papers and narrowed it down to the one used here. I added some bling and die cut clouds, and a cheeky little paperclip to finish off.
The sentiment is from a sticker sheet that was meant to be for my project life - but I decided it was too perfect not to use on this card!

so just be you- whether you're a unicorn, or something else!
